Players can use currency to trade for items or benefits on Mineplex. The two types of currency are Gems and Treasure Shards, which each allow the purchase of different commodities.

Gems are the main form of currency in Mineplex, and players can earn them by playing games, voting for the server, or completing parkour in the lobby. Gem prizes vary according to the difficulty of the task; for example, participation in a game results in 10 Gems, while placing first results in 30 Gems. Players can buy certain in-server items with Gems, such as kits.

Treasure Shards, formerly known as Coins, can be obtained from playing games, Treasure Chests and Carl the Creeper. With Treasure Shards, players can buy Cosmetics and more Treasure Chests.
