The Spider is a class in Super Smash Mobs. It is one of the 4 free classes in the game, along with the Skeleton, Iron Golem, and Slime. It has two abilities available freely - Needler and Spin Web, along with two passives.

Energy Regeneration: 0.5 to 1 (on ground)
Spider is a fast and deadly mob with high mobility and decent recovery. Spider is a very threatening mob in melee, thanks to its mobility. Spider's skills are especially deadly with it's Needler providing edge-guarding and armor-bypassing Poison abilities while Spin Web causes above average damage and has web trapping abilities. It's also one of the only 2 classes that has 2 Passives. They are Spider Leap, allowing you to jump in any direction you look, and Wall Climb that will let you climb up walls, aiding it's recovery, but takes up energy to use the move.
Spider is deadly in close combat, but not without it's flaws. Spider has a very wide hitbox, making it suitable for combo attacks. It's recovery is vulnerable to edge-guarding and gimps, making it travel little to no distance overall, when hit by a projectile or AoE Skill. Spider is also somewhat ineffective against ranged mobs, like Slime, despite having it's effective camping.
Overall, Spider is a deadly mob with above average offense, decent defense, and miraculous speed. It's notorious for its mobility and above average stats for melee, along with Needler, spammable skill, and its 2 passives that help the Spider to recover back on-stage. Spider is a deadly threat to melee play styles, but it's wide hitbox makes the Spider vulnerable to combos and it's recovery is overall vulnerable to edge-guarding.
Spider is equipped with a Sword, Axe, and Compass.
Sword Ability - Needler Edit
Hold Right Click with the sword to spray out 7 arrows that travel a decent distance, and doing a good amount of damage at close range. Effective for combos and serves as a edge-guarding move that will hit anyone with poison that can bypass armor damage. This is also effective for camping since it can travel at a fast speed to keep attackers away.
Axe Ability - Spin Web Edit
Right Click the Axe and the spider will launch a fairly long distance. It serves mainly as a recovery move. Very good to use while camping and will trap any mobs for few seconds. During this short period, a Spider can attack the trapped players, usually resulting in the opponent's death. As a recovery, it's very decent for horizontal and vertical recovery, but the Spider will have a hard time recovering against projectile-based mobs, like Snow Golem.
Passive #1 - Spider Leap Edit
Your Double Jump takes you exactly in the direction you are looking. This passive is used for a significantly more ground mobility. It travels somewhat good distances.
Passive #2 - Wall Climb Edit
Hold shift or crouch in a nearby wall and you climb up as you hold down. It uses energy in your experience bar as you use it. Another useful recovery move in case failing to recover while near a wall. Also allows the spider to wall jump, as the Spider is the only mob able to do so.
Smash Ability- Spiders Nest Edit
You spin a dome of webs in a radius around you, trapping enemy players. Your attacks heal you and permanently increase your health. Your abilities all have a 2 second recharge.
- Spin Web replaced Web Shot when it was implemented. Web Shot allowed to only shoot One web and it rarely trapped enemies.
- Before the Zombie was released, Spider had the most buffs out of all SSM classes and It became significantly popular for it's well-rounded nature, balanced between Attack, Defense, and Speed together.
