The Undead are attacking!

Mineplex

Zombie Survival is a Limited minigame on Mineplex that was released as a Beta minigame on August 16th, 2013. The premise of Zombie Survival is for players to be the last surviving player in a zombie infested map; players that were killed from any cause turned into zombies.

There were two teams: the green Survivors Team and the red Undead Team. Before the start of the game, one person joined the Undead Team; after the timer counted down, another player was randomly selected to also be Undead. The goal of the game was to be the last Survivor alive. There was no time limit.

Players had to work together (or sometimes betray each other) to survive and be the last player standing. Zombies controlled by the AI spawned frequently at random areas around the map; as such they could very easily gang up on a single player in large numbers. Occasionally, certain Survivors, without warning, became Alpha Zombies (or Alpha Undead), represented by Wither Skeletons; upon doing so, the chat proclaimed: "[Player] has become an Alpha Zombie." If a Survivor died, they turned into a normal Zombie, represented by a Skeleton; in this case, the chat stated: "You have been Zombified! Braaaaaiiiinnnssss!"

Undead had an unlimited number of lives; respawning was instant. If AI Zombies died, they dropped Rotten Flesh and Bones which couldn't be picked up. If player controlled Undead died, they dropped red dye to symbolize blood. Alpha Undead, and to some extent normal player controlled Undead, were hard to kill; however, it was still possible. It was not recommended, though.

All players carried Compasses that directed them to the nearest player of the opposing team. Players were listed on the right side of the screen.
